No Thermal Cracking
GenTuff™ products will not thermally crack under extreme heat conditions found during rod and bar processing. Instead, GenTuff parts develop a fine, sandy-grained surface after long periods of use. Simple machining restores the original, smooth roll surface to renew and extend working life.
No Cooling Needed
Our customers have realized enhanced operating flexibility and lower overall operating cost because they are able to run GenTuff™ products without cooling water.
Unsurpassed Product Lifespan
GenTuff is comprised of approximately 80% tungsten carbide within an alloy binder. The marriage of these materials results in a long service life which outlasts conventional roll materials by 10x-15x.
High Strength & Impact Resistance
GenTuff readily withstands high-impact and shock from the front end of bars or rods during the rolling process. Further product value is evident if bearing failure occurs.Normally, such an event would likely result in unexpected roll stoppage. With GenTuff only the damaged areas need to be removed prior to returning the roll back to service. The durability of GenTuff products results in lower downtime and increased productivity.
